Bloemfontein Celtic can now confirm that the 21-year-old Ghanaian Ransford Osei has penned a six-month deal with the Free State-based outfit which will see him at the club up to the end of the 2011/12 season.
Osei, an attacking midfielder and striker, has been training with Siwelele for some time prior to the Christmas break and played really well in a club friendly. It seems he has done enough to convince coach Clinton Larsen and his technical team that he can add value to the squad.
Having spent some time with Maccabi Haifa, FC Twente and Granada during his professional football career, the youngster will undoubtedly bring some experience to the squad.
The club will begin with his work permit during the January period.
“We will be looking to add on to our great performances towards the end of last year and build on those back-to-back wins, and I think this signing is a prudent one and he is a player of great promise and will add a touch of class to our squad,” said Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco.
“He has played for some highly-rated teams like Maccabi and FC Twente and that experience will stand him and the club in good stead for the rest of the season,” he added.
