Albania based striker Reginaldo joined the Mozambique squad late but trained on Friday as the 25-man squad went through their final paces ahead of Saturday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Namibia at the Zimpeto National Stadium outside of Maputo.

Reginaldo, who was voted the best player of the month in September in the Albanian league after his performance for Kekusi and after missing the last qualifier for Mozambique against Guinea Bissau last month, is expected to be in coach Abel Xavier’s starting line-up at the weekend.

He brings to 10 the number of foreign-based players in the squad.

The others are Zainadine Jr (Maritimo, Portugal), Mexer (Stade Rennes, France), Clésio (Istanbulspor, Turkey), Reinildo (Belenenses, Portugal), Witi (Nacional, Portugal), Geraldo (Amora, Portugal), Stanley Ratifo (FC Cologne, Germany), Dominguez (Bidvest Wits, South Africa), Edmilson (Cape Town City, South Africa) and Chelito (Renissance Berkane, Morocco).

Mozambique lead Group K, along with Guinea Bissau and Zambia, who all have four points, followed by Namibia with one.

Zambia beat Guinea Bissau 2-1 in Ndola on Wednesday.
