Edwin Lisene, Technical Director for Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies FC, says it is all systems go for the Sasol National Championships tournament that will be held in Durban from June 25 to 30.

“This is the toughest competition as far as ladies football is concerned, but I’m confident that we shall take the spoils at the Sasol National Championships next week. We have prepared well for the tournament and our target is to win it. We're focused, we're ready and we know we can beat any team,” Lisene tells bloemfonteincelticfc.co.za.

He declines to identify the danger sides.

"This is the biggest women’s soccer tournament in Mzansi, there are many teams who can upset the best. Interestingly, there are three rookies in our group but we will not underestimate them. We’ll give them all the respect they deserve," he explains.

About Celtic Ladies’ approach to the tournament Lisene says: "It's not about the other teams. It's about us. We will control what we can, play how we can. We will be playing to win all our fixtures.”

Lisene - who will be in charge of the Free State side during the duration of the tournament - says his players have worked hard on a few things that went wrong in the last three tournaments.

"We sat down, looked at the mistakes, tweaked here and there and we're ready. It will be a week where mental preparation will take precedence."

Motale, as Lisene is affectionately known in football circles, feels the leadership qualities in the side, the mental strength and the younger members of the team are a great boon.

"It's great to have a youthful side. I believe all the players who are travelling to Durban will do a fantastic job. Sana Mollo will also be available for the tournament and her experience will be vital for us.” he concludes.
