Bloemfontein Celtic practiced penalty taking and various goal-scoring drills on Thursday morning at the Grey College training ground on Thursday morning.

“We have to be prepared for everything and anything, and we are,” said Celtic Coach Owen Da Gama about his team’s specific shooting practice.

“I think it would be great to finish (read win) the game in 90 minutes and avoid the lottery. But we have to prepared for whatever happens,” he said about facing Orlando Pirates in a Telkom Knockout match at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

“All the players are ready to do their duty against Pirates and although we missing a few players due to injury and suspension, it won’t be a problem as we have guys that are ready to stake a claim for next season and you can expect nothing less than 110% from them.”

Pirates will be without playmaker Teko Modise, anchorman Andile Jali and goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs, three of six Pirates players on duty with the national team in Brasil.

“Pirates have a big squad and have talented players that can fill in for the internationals. I don’t think they will be weaker, in fact I think those players coming in will want to prove a point.”

Celtic captain Gary Goldstone agreed with the former Pirates coach.

“It’s still Pirates, and it will still be a tough game. I think we are ready for them and we want to put on a good show for our loyal fans. Although I think we did well in the league, I think it would be good for us to bring home this cup for our supporters.”
